Andre Slabbert is an independent director in the Cayman Islands. He is a Member of the Cayman Islands Directors Association and a Registered Director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. Andre works on a wide range of investment funds, crypto/web3 foundations, securitisations and corporate structures. In addition to Director Services, Andre specialises in Independent Investment Review, Accounting and Liquidation services.

 

Andre boasts more than 16-years’ experience in the financial services industry, working for prominent international financial services providers in the areas of audit and fiduciary. In addition to 6-years as a financial auditor with PKF, during his previous role at Ocorian, he performed and managed the FATCA & CRS compliance and reporting, Economic Substance compliance for corporates, and AML compliance for structured finance SPV’s and investment funds.

Further to his fiduciary and compliance expertise, Andre has extensive experience as a Voluntary Liquidator for Cayman entities. He served years in the role as an independent investment professional, performing Independent Conflict Reviews for Investment Advisors. His final role at Ocorian as an executive provided invaluable experience with the regulators, internal audits, and sub-committees.

Andre honed his client focused service model whilst working with some of the largest and most sophisticated managers and advisors across Europe and the Americas, but he also recognises nuances of working with smaller managers, who needs a higher touch involvement and guidance to help them navigate and prepare for the ever-changing environment.

Andre is a qualified chartered accountant and a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, a Postgraduate Honours degree in Accounting from the University of South Africa and is an Accredited Director with the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada.
